Omicron: The Rajasthan government may impose more restrictions in the state with the aim of preventing the spread of coronavirus infection in Jaipur. State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave instructions in this regard to the officials during the meeting.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday chaired a meeting to review the situation in Jaipur and directed the officials to increase the scope of investigation and impose more restrictions. Gehlot said in a stern tone that this is a matter of the state capital which should not be taken lightly, otherwise the situation can be explosive as Jaipur is reporting maximum cases of corona virus infection.

On Thursday, out of a total of 252 corona virus infection cases in the state, 185 active cases were found in the capital Jaipur, due to which the number of active cases in the state increased to 773 and the total number of active cases in the capital Jaipur to 521. In the meeting, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh suggested closure of schools, while others suggested closure of religious places, reducing the number of guests at the wedding ceremony and other suggestions.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot questioned the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Jaipur as to why the number of test samples was not increased despite the increasing number of active cases in the last 15 days. He said that the number of test samples being taken daily in Jaipur is stable while the number of active cases of corona virus infection is increasing continuously. Medical and Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena also suggested closing schools, increasing the number of samples for testing and taking other strict measures to prevent the spread of corona virus infection. Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya, Director General of Police ML Lather and other administrative and health department officials were present in the meeting.
