With 8,063 new cases of corona virus infection being reported in the Mumbai metropolis, BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal on Sunday tried to allay the fears of the citizens, saying that 89 per cent infections are asymptomatic and 90 per cent beds in hospitals are vacant. .

He said, “Today, 8,063 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Mumbai, out of which 89 percent were found to be completely asymptomatic and the total patients under treatment in the city are 29,819. ,

503 patients were admitted in hospitals

Chahal said in a statement, “However, out of today’s 8,063 new cases, only 503 patients have been admitted to hospitals, out of which 56 patients have been kept on beds equipped with oxygen facility. As of today, 90 percent of the beds in Mumbai are vacant. ,

He said, “Don’t get panic, but at this time we all have to be very careful and follow the covid appropriate behavior.”
