Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni). Not that active in cricket anymore. The scope has been limited to IPL. But, even today cricketers are seen playing or trying to play his shot.

Now the question is what is this Dhoni shot after all. So the answer is Helicopter Shot. This shot is Dhoni’s gift to world cricket. Dhoni has won many matches for his franchise Chennai Super Kings in India and IPL by playing helicopter shots from the middle of the field. Gradually, this shot of his became so popular that now many cricketers of the country and the world are seen playing it. The latest case is of Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022) where a batsman contributed to his team’s victory by playing this shot with Dhoni.

We have seen Hardik Pandya in India playing Dhoni’s helicopter shot. Have seen Rashid Khan from Afghanistan. But, after Rashid Khan, now another Afghan batsman playing in the Pakistan Super League has played a helicopter shot exactly like Dhoni. The name of this batsman is Ramanullah Gurbaz, who is part of Islamabad United team in PSL 2022.

Gurbaj dominates Islamabad ‘s victory

The match was between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi on the evening of 30 January. Peshawar Zalmi, who lost the toss in this match, batted first and scored 168 for 6 in 20 overs. Now when Islamabad’s team came to chase the target of 169 runs, its mood was aggressive from the beginning. Paul Stirling and Alex Hales added 112 runs for the opening wicket, which made the team’s task easy. When both of them laid the foundation, Rahmanullah Gurbaz made a big contribution in erecting the lofty building of victory by 9 wickets on it.

Gurbaz stunned with Dhoni’s shot

Gurbaz scored 27 runs in 16 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 1 four and remained unbeaten till the end. This innings came in handy for the team to win, but during this time he got headlines because of that one six whose mood was Dhoni’s helicopter shot.

The over was the 15th of Islamabad’s innings. The bowler in front was Sohail Khan. A total of 18 runs were scored in this over, out of which 17 were killed by Gurbaz. On the third and fourth balls of the over, he hit two back to back sixes. But, the third ball in which was a six, there was a glimpse of Dhoni’s helicopter shot. This six on mid-wicket had exactly the same style and style as Dhoni used to. The big thing is that while waving in the air, the ball also landed after crossing the boundary.
