Nowadays every blogger wants to hold their visitor 10 to 20 sec on their website, But maximum blogger can’t hold it. So in this blog, I will show how can you hold your visitor on your website for about 10 to 30 sec genuinely using the timer button. So let’s get started.

You have to follow this step

First Step:

  1. At first download this javascript code 
  2. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  3. First, check that If you are using a newspaper theme or another theme that is similar to a newspaper theme then you have to follow this way (2nd Option). Otherwise, if you are using another theme like Astra, oceanWP, etc. Then you can continue with this step.
  4. Then Click On Appearance > Theme Editor > footer.php.
  5. Find the code of line at the end <?php wp_footer(); ?>.
  6. Then put the javascript code below that line of code <?php wp_footer(); ?>.
  7. Click On Save Changes.
  8. Now Install the Shortcodes Ultimate  Plugins.
  9. Now go to your post section and create your post or edit an old post to set your timer in that post. whatever you want.
  10. Now click on Insert shortcode On the top of your editor and choose the button, Then pop up one box where you need to put your download file link or another link. Now choose the design as per your requirement when everything will be done then after scrolling you can see one input field ask for the Button ID.
  11. Now which javascript code you downloaded from google drive there you can see one line of code like this var downloadButton = document.getElementById(“download”); Then you need to copy that download text which is you can see the end of the code.
  12. Now you need to put that download text under the Button ID field and click on Insert Shortcode.
  13. And Publish your post.
  14. That’s it.

Second Step:

  1. Still now if you didn’t download that javascript file then At first download this javascript code from here Download file
  2. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  3. In this section, I show you that, If you are using a newspaper theme or another theme that is similar to a newspaper theme which is to provide us a particular theme panel for customizing that theme then you have to follow this way. Otherwise, if you are using another theme like Astra, oceanWP, etc. Then you can follow our (First step).
  4. Then Click On Theme panel > Click On Ads / Footer > Choose the footer content.
  5. Then put the javascript code in this input field.
  6. Click On Save Changes.
  7. Next, follow 8 to 14 steps under the first step.

Third Step:

Still, if your timer button didn’t work after following the First & Second Step then you must need to follow this step:

  1. Still now if you didn’t download that javascript file then At first download this javascript code from here Download file
  2. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  3. In this section it’s doesn’t matter which theme you have installed.
  4. Just go to the plugins and click on add new then install Head & Footer Code Plugins and activate those plugins.
  5. Then Click On Settings Under the Head & Footer code.
  6. Then put the javascript code in the Footer section.
  7. Click On Save Changes.
  8. Next, follow 8 to 14 steps under the first step.
